About SQEPtech

We help organisations know their people are ready, and prove it.

In safety-critical work, "are they competent?" should never be answered with a best guess. It should be answered with evidence.

Our story

Built where the stakes are highest.

SQEPtech was founded in 2018 by Bobbie King and Jonathan Ball. A UK fire and rescue service was one of our first clients, and eSQEP was built with that operational, assessed workforce from day one.

That shaped how we work. We bring real sector knowledge of fire and rescue, policing, life sciences and other regulated environments, and we've helped shape industry standards along the way.

To help organisations know, with confidence, that their people have the right competencies for the roles they're in, and to prove it when it matters.

How we work

We build our own platform. Every client gets the senior team.

eSQEP is designed, built and maintained by our own team. When a regulation changes or an inspection finds a gap, we change the product.

We also implement partner platforms like Cornerstone, Edays and HiBob, and integrate with others such as Rippling. eSQEP stays at the centre, alongside connect and vILTPlus.

We're a small team by choice. There's no junior tier and no engagement on autopilot, and eSQEP still manages over 200,000 people across the UK, EU and US.

What we believe

Four things that guide every engagement.

Competence assurance is a responsibility

In our sectors, getting it wrong costs more than a failed audit. We build with that in mind.

The evidence has to be right

A record that can't stand up to scrutiny is a liability. Everything we build is designed to hold up.

We stay involved

Go-live is the start. We stay alongside clients as they change and face new challenges.

Every client gets real attention

Each organisation has its own context and its own idea of success. We work to that.
